Who we are

Nurses Reaching Out (NRO) is a UK Registered Charity (No.1177890) and a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) that was set up in 2009 to improve nursing and health care by empowering and supporting nurses to access appropriate evidenced based health care practices. By doing this we hope to make improvements not only to the care patients receive but also in the patients’ environment. At present NRO works in Northern Uganda.

NRO’s work involves building partnerships with local community based groups to enhance the patient experience and support nursing care. We achieve these goals through education, developing evidence based health care and the distribution of equipment, gifts and other contributions received by NRO.

NRO was founded by two British nurses and the current trustees have a range of skilled and professional backgrounds.
